Southern Nevada customers can go here for Nonprofit Grants.

NV Energy is now accepting applications from Nevada-based nonprofit agencies (in our northern service territory only at this time) to fund weatherization and energy-efficiency retrofit projects to help reduce operational costs from energy consumption.

Examples of effective projects are: Lighting retrofits, installation of lighting controls and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) system upgrades, or other measures that reduce electric energy consumption.

To qualify for these grants an agency must be an NV Energy electric customer in good standing, a 501(c)(3) physically located within the company’s service area (Nevada customers only), and the money must be used to fund energy-efficiency retrofits or weatherization projects. Grant applications will be rated and awarded based on electrical energy savings.

Improvement projects must be completed by November 16, 2010. Agencies will be required to provide a written confirmation upon completion of the funded improvements and a copy of the contractor invoice.

The submission deadline is August 31, 2010.

Individual projects may be funded in full up to $5,000. For grants between $5,000 and $10,000, a 50% matching investment from the nonprofit organization will be required.

Energy experts from the utility company are available to help agencies identify potential energy saving opportunities and cost-effective methods to help reduce their energy costs. Contact the number below to set up an appointment.

Only the NV Energy program manager can approve project funding. Please make sure to get authorization for funding before starting any project if you expect to receive the incentive.

Application letters may be submitted via U.S. Mail, fax, email or hand delivery and the following information is required:
