Nye County

Nye County has a population of more nearly 40,000 and offers a quiet quality of life. Mining, service and government are the largest industries in the county and industries are supported by strong transportation links to California. Nye County has numerous golf courses and mining ghost towns, and hosts annual professional off-road competitions. Tonopah is located 239 miles south-east of Reno/Sparks and 207 miles northwest of Las Vegas on U.S. Highway 95 and 6 and State Route 376. Nye County, the third largest county in the United States, totals 18,064 square miles. To the south, Nye County borders the state of California.
